PrintLab Launches 3D Printing Curriculum for the Netherlands and beyond

De Rekenwinkel, now a reseller of PrintLab will offer the translated curriculum as part of multinational approach for the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg) alongside a 3D printer, materials and training

** Press Release **

PrintLab, a global distributor and curriculum provider in 3D technologies have today announced that their classroom learning platform is now available in Dutch. Following the successful English launch in 2018, Classroom is already available in Greek and Polish, with Spanish being due out for a Q1 2020 release.

As a result of a collaboration with Dutch 3D Technology & Education supplier ‘De Rekenwinkel', PrintLab are now able to prepare a new generation of young people in the Netherlands & Dutch speaking countries for their future careers, whilst providing teachers with engaging content for use in the Classroom.

Dutch teachers will have access to a range of unique creative projects with additional new lessons being added to the portal every month. Each lesson comes with everything a teacher needs to prepare and deliver the lesson such as:

  • Information including subject areas and learning criteria
  • Downloadable presentations
  • Downloadable student workbooks
  • Step-by-step lesson preparation information
  • Step-by-step lesson delivery information
  • Teacher training/lesson practice video tutorials

PrintLab Classroom is the perfect solution for teachers looking to integrate 3D technology skills into core topics such as science, technology, engineering, arts, maths, computing, geography, history, languages and more.

As well as lesson plans, a large emphasis is placed on teacher training or Continued Professional Development (CPD) with the inclusion of a comprehensive certification course. Lesson plans are now being given Fusion 360 workflows in addition to TinkerCAD, allowing teachers flexibility and students the opportunity to progress from basic to more challenging design software. This improved method of curriculum generation is supported with alignment to ISTE standards.

De Rekenwinkel, now a reseller of PrintLab will offer the translated curriculum as part of multinational approach for the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg) alongside a 3D printer, materials and training. The hope is to arm hundreds of teachers with the skills and knowledge to inspire thousands of young people.

Nick Mayor, Co-Founder at PrintLab, is thrilled about offering a new nation of educators with a unique platform for teaching 3D technology.

Since launch, we have seen a huge amount of interest in PrintLab Classroom resources from around the world. With over 50 resources and growing, a key challenge for us is to enable educators to be able to use the platform in varying languages. Our mission has always been to prepare the next generation for their future careers by addressing the widening skills gap and I am very proud to say that our mission is now being realised in a number of regions. Our focus is on finding partners that share our belief and vision and in De Rekenwinkel, we have found an inspired team that has education at its core.

The aim is to inspire students and teachers to adopt technology into lessons. PrintLab Classroom is now being used in around 25 countries and for us that is just the beginning, as we look to inspire minds on a global scale with curriculum and training. A special mention must go to our PrintLab Pioneers, a group of 30 teachers from around the world that play a huge part in our curriculum development. For me this is the real power of Classroom, curriculum and training developed alongside teachers, for teachers!

Klaas Kuperus, Sales Director of De Rekenwinkel also commented,

We are very excited to start the cooperation with PrintLab for the Benelux market. Over the last few months, we’ve been learning a lot ourselves with the Classroom platform and we are very happy to have the chance to offer the students of the Dutch primary and secondary schools the same experience! 3D printing and scanning offers huge learning possibilities and with the PrintLab Classroom adapting this to real-life situations and being cross-curricular, I am convinced teachers and students will love it!
