Introducing the MakerTrack Course: Learn Electronics with 3D Printing

Today we’re excited to launch the MakerTrack Course on the PrintLab platform! MakerTrack is a hands-on journey that takes you from basic circuit prototyping to designing real, presentable products using 3D printing and electronics.

At the core is the MakerTrack system – a modular platform that lets you build solderless circuits using standard components, 3D-printed mounts, and conductive tape. But MakerTrack goes beyond just lighting an LED. It’s about learning how circuits work in the context of actual devices – and using those skills to create prototypes that look and feel like finished products.

Whether you’re building a simple flashlight or dreaming up your own invention, the MakerTrack system gives you the structure to design, iterate, and test in a clean, functional way.

What is the MakerTrack Course?

This beginner-friendly course guides you through the process of:

  • Assembling electrical components using the MakerTrack mounting system.
  • Prototyping 8 different circuit experiments on a modular grid board.
  • Applying what you’ve learned to build a working LED flashlight – from electronics to a finished enclosure, using Tinkercad or Autodesk Fusion.
  • Designing your own custom mounts for other electronic components not included in the base kit.
    + more!
